“The Saint-Evremond”

Champagne means celebration, pleasure, enjoyment…

“Champagne was not invented by wine experts, nor by financiers, nor professors. It was, primarily, the invention of the mistresses of Louis XV and Louis XIV, who discovered that when the king drank it, his embraces were a delight, reciprocal. This was where frivolity could be found, light-heartedness.”
Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger

Our Champagne Bar is named in homage to the Marquis Charles de Saint-Évremond, creator of the “Order of the Champagne Hillsides” at the court of Louis XIV.

Situated at the heart of the main house, in one of the most ancient rooms of the Château, the library is a meeting place and a place of conversation, where history-lovers, passing travellers and gourmet diners come together to share refreshments, meals or a glass of champagne.

In the flickering glow of candlelight, Jacques Garcia’s design evokes a soft and sensual atmosphere.
