Signature château Madame de Maintenon

This glorious signature room is Jacques Garcia’s homage to Madame de Maintenon and her deep spiritual bond to Louis XIV.

Crown jewel of the room is the Sixteenth Century fireplace which bears the engraved motto of Louise’s forebears: “Ad principem ut ad ignem – Amor indissolu” – “A love unbreakable, for the Prince as it is for the flame.”

The vibrant colours of the room’s fabrics create an atmosphere embodying the taste and deep character of the last great female personality of Louis XIV’s reign.

Carrara marble, antique mirrors and wood panelling transform the en suite bathroom into a place of intimacy and charm.
Madame de Maintenon offers a breathtaking view of the French Orchard and beyond, out over the valley of the River Brenne.
The room features a communicating door, if so desired, to the signature room Madame de Montespan.
